Ball Socks

This is a very simple pattern for a sock to hold your center pull yarn cake. There are three sizes to pick from that will fit a 100gm, 50gm, or 20gm cake. Please note some ball winders may produce a slightly different shaped cake. I am using a Stanwood ball winder. This pattern is a great way to use scraps from your favorite yarns.

Magic Vanilla Socks

I call this the Magic Vanilla Socks because I have yet to meet a person it does not fit. It is one size fits most women, making it a great first sock pattern. This pattern was taught to me by Aunt Pam who sat next to me on the sofa, each of us with a sock in hand working through my first heel turn. It was taught to her the same way by a Finnish friend, who in turn learned from her Mom the same way. I wish I could sit next to each of you on the sofa and continue this pattern, but at least I know that the pattern will live on and bring happiness to countless knitters.
